This short film entitled "Masterpiece" won Chevy's contest for independent filmmakers. South Korean independent filmmaker, Jude Chun, was chosen over the other 72 submissions from around the world. Chevrolet's CMO, Tim Mahoney, stated that the company is not looking to "hang the brand from one tentpole after another". Chevrolet hitting the big events such as the Olympics, the Super Bowl, and now the Oscars are all simply under the same strategy of continuously building momentum about the brand. Instead of enforcing the "buying" of Chevy vehicles, they are looking to reach people based on factors such as "this vehicle will be bought by this type of person, with these media habits". The ultimate goal for Chevrolet is to continue their success by basing marketing on consistency and connecting with different audiences through various sources of media.
